A collection of brooches celebrating the legacy of Shetland Lace Knitting, a textile industry with its own windows onto a geographical, social and economic landscape of its time. While recognised for its cob-web fine yarn and expertly crafted lace of intricate designs, it’s underlying narrative is one of survival, tenacity and dedication.


We often define ourselves by our differences or distinctiveness.  A line or object within space holds its own place when it references another.  Yet there is inherent beauty when it becomes intertwined with another, resulting in a visual representation of interconnection.
